Artists, do you put your art before your actual life?
I once heard Kevin Smith say on his podcast, Jay and Silent Bob Get Old, that the crux of a true artist is that he/she will give up trying to get laid for art and creativity. Are most of your thoughts consumed with your art, along with most of your activities? or would you be more apt to think something like "Yeah, I need to record that song when I get home... but I would rather call my buddies to go get pizza... I think girls are coming.. It is more important I go out and live life than sit at home recording a song" Obviously not like that but you know what I mean. I am that way I think. I think there is more of a certainty of productivity when I spend my night on Illustrator or ProTools, but what I REALLY want is to LIVE. It's a catch 22.What do y'all think?
