Why does she do this?

Every one is different and some girls don't want to be smothered. Especially if she's on her period. Lots of girls get moody all the time and you just gotta roll with it. You might like all the holding and touching but maybe she likes more space, just a difference in preference, doesn't mean she like or loves you any less.
