Question about The Last Waltz concert film (details)?

While Muddy Waters is singing Mannish Boy, there is a cute guy playing guitar next to him. The guitar player was not a member of The Band. He had long, curly hair and a beard. He was to the left of Muddy Waters, but on the right as we look at the screen. Anybody know his name?
